The Role:

This is a strategic, hands-on architecture position focused on designing and scaling production-grade AI systems. You’ll define how LLMs and agentic workflows are implemented across the business, setting standards and long-term technical direction.

We are seeking a Platform Engineer to own and evolve our Kubernetes-based infrastructure on AWS. You’ll be responsible for ensuring our microservices platform is reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient while empowering developers to ship with confidence. Our stack runs on AWS EKS with modern tooling including Karpenter for intelligent node scaling, KEDA for event-driven autoscaling, and Datadog for full observability. We are looking for a Java Tech Lead with at least 5 years of experience and with AWS to join the project of our client from the banking sector.

High english level is required.

Availability to go to the client’s offices in the centre of Madrid 3 days a week.

⚙ Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable software
• As part of the DevOps model you build it, you own it and you run it , ensure stable and smooth maintenance of delivered software
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Participate in complete Software Development Life Cycle, including occasional QA and peer review
• Work to achieve the goals and vision articulated by Product Management
• Innovate within your team, initiative area and contribute within your technical domain.

💡 Mandatory requirements:

• Very strong Java programming skills and knowledge of building API s
• Deep understanding of all stages in the Software Development Life Cycle
• Deep understanding of design patterns and principles (e.g. SOLID principles)
• Experience with different testing types: Unit Testing, API Testing, Acceptance Testing, Load Testing
• Experience with distributed architectures like SOA or MSA
• Experience with event-driven architectures
• Experience with REST APIs
• Relevant experience with AWS services (for mid profiles this is a desired skill, not a must)
• Experience with Gradle or Maven

• Experience working in an Agile fashion (e.g. Scrum, SAFe)

¿Cuáles serían tus funciones?

• Diseñar, desarrollar y mantener microservicios en Java utilizando Spring Boot.
• Implementar y aplicar arquitectura hexagonal para garantizar un código modular y mantenible.
• Gestionar el despliegue de aplicaciones en entornos Kubernetes y optimizar su rendimiento.
• Diseñar y mantener integraciones con sistemas de mensajería como Kafka o RabbitMQ.
• Optimizar consultas y garantizar el rendimiento de bases de datos SQL y NoSQL (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
• Aplicar buenas prácticas de desarrollo (TDD, DDD, SOLID, Clean Code).
• Trabajar en estrecha colaboración con equipos de DevOps, QA y otros desarrolladores.
• Participar en revisiones de código y proponer mejoras en la arquitectura.
